Another Defeat 2 KnightRiders.....Ross Taylor Leads Royal Challengers 2wards Victory...

Two partnerships involving Brendon McCullum, the first with with David Hussey and the next with Angelo Mathews, helped Kolkata Knight Riders overcome a shaky start and post a challenging total on a sluggish surface in Centurion. Bangalore held the early advantage by way of a double-strike from opening bowler R Vinay Kumar, who removed Sourav Ganguly and Arindam Ghosh in fairly quick succession. But McCullum fought through a patchy phase and changed gears following Hussey's dismissal to hand his team its most satisfying batting performance of the season.

The Bangalore seamers justified Anil Kumble's decision to bowl, using favourable conditions to extract movement as well as bounce to unsettle the Kolkata top order. Ganguly looked edgy from the outset: he was beaten by Vinay Kumar in the first over and charged down the track to counter the bounce. Ruffled by two bouncers, Ganguly probed at Vinay Kumarr's full ball immediately after which produced the outside edge. Ghosh was Kolkata's T Suman, but failed to live up to his role, nicking one off an ugly attempt to clear point.
